This latest CD explores the MIDI realization of various musical environments and pitch organizations. Some of the works contained on this CD, are based on Baroque and tonal formats while others explore the serial technique. Some works are MIDI reworks of early compositions although in most cases extensive rearrangements have been attempted.
TRACK 1. - SUITE OF BAROQUE TRUMPET TUNES
Although an original composition this work makes use of conventions, harmonizations, playing styles and melodic structures that were prevelant during the baroque period. In particular the trumpet writing is stylistic of the time and conforms to the melodic and note constraints of the instruments of the time. Some slight adjustment needed to be made to the score in order for it to be realized via the MIDI system. Score and part are available from the composer.

TRACK 2. - TWO SCHERZOS FOR BRASS AND WOODWIND
The original version of these compositions were scored for 2 Trumpets, French Horn, Baritone Horn, Trombone and Tuba - The first was performed on 03/31/1977 by the "Tudor Rose Brass Choir" and was written for Louis Gerolami - Baritone Horn. The second was performed, again by the "Tudor Rose Brass Choir" on 04/07/1977 and was written for Charles Austin - Tuba. The "Tudor Rose Brass Choir" was an autonomious performing ensemble of Tudor Rose School of Music. Both compositions received their first performances in Ives Auditorium, Danbury Connecticut.* The editions contained on this disk have been arranged to feature the Bass Clarinet and utilizes a large Woodwind ensemble as well as a number of Brass instruments including French Horns and Trombones. It is Atonal in nature utilizing a combinatorial serial row of notes as well as the Baroque Fugue form.

TRACK 3. - SUITE OF ENGLISH PIECES FOR HARP, STRINGS, TWO ENGLISH HORNS AND TWO TRUMPETS.
The work is scored for Violins, Violas, Harp, 2 English Horns and 2 Trumpets. The work was originally written as Incidental Music for the marriage ceremony of the composers son and his betrothed. Most of the movements listed below were used in the ceremony held on 07/19/2004. The "Bridal Fanfare and Entrance" was, however, replaced at the ceremony with an arrangement made by the composer of The Wagner Bridal March, for Strings, Harp, Trumpet and Bells. A score of this arrangement is available from the composer. The movements of the Suite are subtitled as follows:-
- I - A Walk Down a Country Lane.
- II - A Dance at the Manor.
- III - A Morris Dance.
- IV - Interlude.
A COUNTRY WEDDING.
- V - Entrance of The Mother of The Bride.
- VI - Interlude.
- VII - Entrance of the Groom.
- VIII - Interlude.
- IX - Entrance of the Wedding Party.
- X - Interlude.
- XI - Bridal Fanfare and Entrance.
- XII - Bridal Recessional.

TRACK 4. - FANTASIA AND FUGUE FOR PIANO AND STRINGS
The original version of this composition was scored for Piano Solo and written for, and dedicated to Jeanne Farewell. Ms. Farewell performed the work on a number of occasions but particularly on 02/03/1979 at the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven Connecticut, on 11/09/1980 at The English Speaking Union, New York, New York and on 05/09/1981 at the Wigmore Hall, Wigmore Street,London, England. The work uses two combinatorial serial rows, the fantasia concept and the Fugue form. For the arrangement that is on this disk the composer has revised the composition for Piano and Strings and it has been slightly adjusted to accommodate MIDI realization. The composer is indeed indebted to Ms. Farewell for her insightful and sensitive performance of this technically challenging composition.

TRACK 5. - SOUNDSCAPES OF A FORGOTTEN ENGLAND -- An Orchestral Tone Poem of Reflection
The work is scored for full orchestra with added Piano and Organ. The work represents soundscapes of an England experienced by the composer as a child. This work, although standing on it's own as a Tone Poem, also became the third movement of Symphony No. 1.
