(Subtitled -- A Short Story in Two Parts.)

"A Short Story on Two Parts" was first published under a limited first edition of 300 for the Christmas Season of 1998. The two parts were distributed separately in a small area in Plymouth Massachusetts U.S.A. on two occasions shortly prior to the Christmas Season 1998.
As far as the author is aware there is no such vessel as the St. Peter Chalice -- It is a figment of the authors imagination. It should be noted, however, that the description of the St. Peter Chalice is based upon the cup pictured above. This particular cup, the property of the Author, was crafted in London in England during the 1950's - 1960's. The cup is made of Sterling Silver, is Hall-marked and is lightly planished (Not clear from the Photograph).

PART I
(The Legend of The St. Peter Chalice.))

The First part of the story traces the imaginary history of the St. Peter Chalice from its creation in Cyprus during the First Century A.D. to the present Day. Although the events surrounding the Chalice are fictional the background historic facts are correct and thus if such a Chalice did ever exist its movement through history might have indeed happened as portrayed here.
In developing the history fo the St. Peter Chalice the author used the records of Battle Abbey, Battle, East Sussex, England and The Michelham Priory in Upper Dicker, East Sussex, England. The description of the Cathedral is based on Rippon Cathedral, Rippon, in the North of England. Throughout the two parts of the story the author has used vernacular, musical and historic english terms.

PART II
(A Test of Faith.)

The Second part of the story is a simple tale of two twelve-year-olds from different backgrounds trying to retrieve the St. Peter Chalice from a thief. The story brings into play the mysteries of Faith as well as the contemporary evils of child abuse, poverty and crass commercalism. The pivot of the story, perhaps obvious, is the cathedral, choir and the choir's icon, the St. Peter Chalice. All the characters in the story are perhaps stereotyped individuals symbolizing -- (or to use the vernacular buzz words) acting as a metaphor for, groups of individuals representing both the established and radical points of view.
