TRACK 1. - MOVEMENT I ~ The Creation
The left and right outside shutters are only visible when the triptych is closed. Divided by each shutter the artist has created his interpretation of the creation of the earth. The general image of the outside shutters seem to suggest almost a satellite view of the world — so the musical theme of the movement has a fast tempo and seems to be in a rush to get somewhere. It is meant to represent the image a bird may enjoy while flying over the vista. Further information on the symphony can be obtained by going to Symphony No. 2. ~ The Millennium of Hieronymus Bosch ~

TRACK 2. - MOVEMENT II ~ The Garden of Eden
Movement II ~ “The Garden of Eden” starts, like the first movement ~ “The Creation”, with the sounding of a tritone. In this movement, however, there is resolution in both forms. Early on in the movement (at measure 8) – the moment of creation — there commences the “chorale of creation” (composer’s name) which is featured in both this and Movement III. The origin of the chorale comes from the Hell Panel where it appears in the music book tucked under the Harp-Lute instrument. TRACK 3. - MOVEMENT III ~ The Garden of Earthly Delights

TRACK 4. - MOVEMENT IV ~ Hell
The opening of the work represents intermittent drops of water falling in a cavern-like echoing environment. It is said that a single drop of water can even wear away stone—so even if inconsistent the drop represents an all powerful force that however interpreted or represented cannot and must not be ignored. A drop of water, however, has neither the panache nor power of fire or ice but is nonetheless all powerful when given the attribute of longevity. The fourth movement therefore starts quietly and unobtrusively in the stings (pizzicato) and Bassoons and Contra-bassoons. The atmosphere quickly changes. A cynical carnival attitude pervades the new scene with an almost oblivious approach to any repercussions or punishments the “revelers” may reap as a result to their nefarious actions. The timbres become raw and vulgar while the rhythmic content becomes harsh and violent. Interspersed between these periods of torrid and tortuous decadence there appears a number of small respites in the form of the expanded “drop motif”. The work concludes in the depths of Hell with a violent Kaleidoscope of sound. Further information on the symphony can be obtained by going to Symphony No. 2. ~ The Millennium of Hieronymus Bosch ~
